World Travel; Flying Economy with Budget Lines

Ryanair appears to have received quite an influx of negative reviews on their service over recent years. But with industry standards paying close attention to all service providers is it right to say that budget airlines have become more customer friendly, and would you chose to fly budget rather than premium.

Travelling short haul with the budget airline has never been a problem for myself. Seats are generally allocated prior to the day of departure and boarding passing are readily available to be printed via online systems. That being said, I have experienced the ‘not so easy’ side of dealing with budget firms. So here I’ve decided to outline my pros and cons for travelling budget.

If you’re somewhat of the impatient kind then budget probably isn’t for you. Prepare to be ruthless, get to your gate in good time and don’t grumble at the queue. I understand how frustrating it can be waiting to board the plane, but it’s not going anywhere until you’re on board so just take it in your stride.

Where else can you pick up return flights to Germany for £39 or one way to Ireland for £19.50? You might just be able to turn one trip into two by cutting the cost of your flights in half!

If you’re taking hold luggage you’re more than likely going to get stung. Be careful and do your research before you fly. Ryanair offers hold for around £30 each way, make sure you factor this into your total costs before you chose your airline.

The majority of countries in the world have their own budget airline firms, this makes your trip across the globe much cheaper and easily achievable. Catch a cheap flight to India and then look up Air Asia for all internal and short haul flights. You’ll be surprised at the doors budget airlines open.

UK; why the Isle of Arran is the idyllic wedding venue

Just an hour out of Glasgow is the small town of Ardrossen, home to the ferry connecting Scotland to the 60mile island, Arran.

Some might say Arran isn’t your typical holiday destination but for my family, it’s been the chosen destination for over 15years. This weekend was my very first trip to Arran for my stepsisters wedding so I thought it would be good to share my experience with you all.

With a population of only 4,300 people it’s easy to see how Arran has managed to maintain its tradition heritage in a globalised world. Arran feels excluded from modern culture of UK, it feels raw and traditional. I love it!

How often can you say a town is untouched by popular culture? The island has no retail franchises, no Macdonald’s nor a Topshop, infact the only brand you will find on there is Cooperative Food Stores. Signal isn’t great on the island so all that’s left to do is put down your technology and go explore the history of this beautiful island.

Here’s some pointers of things to do whilst in Arran.

1. Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park is a great place to visit! Lose yourself in the Victorian Highland estate, a perfect day out with the family! Brodick Castle is located closely to Goatfell Mountain and is the perfect backdrop for some travel photos.

2. Fancy testing your trekking skills, pull on them walking boots and take a hike up Goatfell, Arran’s highest mountain. Goatfell stands 874meters high and has several routes up depending on your stamina and intensity level. It is rumoured that on a clear day Ireland can be seen from the top.

3. If golf is more your thing then why not make it your challenge to get around all the courses on the island, Arran is home to 12 courses. Or how about shipping the other half off for a game whilst you indulge in one of the spas on the Ireland. Bliss after a long days hike.

And finally, I know your dying to ask, the wedding went perfectly! If your planning your big day then Arran could be an option for you too. This beautiful island has the golden coastal scenes to the right and forestry mountain scenes to the left. It really is simply idyllic.

Getting Creative.

I love messing around with photoshop.. can you tell?? .. I’ve made several banners recently for different project so thought I’d share them with you all :).
The first, being a banner for my photography projects. I like to keep to a theme, therefore I run the sketch theme throughout. Although I adapt sketches, again, I tend to run the theme of princess/fashion. Rebekah Esme Photography will be used in various locations on the web where my photography is present.
The Second image being my current header, a clean simple header used for my blog, I really like the simplicity of this.
My third and fourth headers are for a project I am currently working on, they retain my fashion theme however incorperate both sketch with a girlie font.

Daily Booth; Social Media

I’ve had a bit of a Social Media kick as of late and decided there’s a few band waggons hanging around I feel the need to jump on.

Firstly, I’ve traded in 365project for blipfoto. I’m not quite sure how I feel about this one yet and it still remains to be decided whether I keep up my 365 alongside blip. I felt a new community was in need. After a year on 365 I’d become settled, content, if you will, so a new challenge should hopefully hold my interest a little longer.

Secondly, as of today, I’ve joined the Daily Booth community. Not quite sure how it work yet, nor what I will gain from it I thought I’d try it none the less. Thus, proving that new hair really does give you a new lease in life.

.. it would appear noone likes me on there yet! .. anyway .. if your a lover of any of these feel free to get intouch.. I need a friend.. or 10!
