Northumberland, Eshott Hall Review

Eshott Hall. Northumberland. Wow, what a place. Me and the boyf went this weekend as my little birthday getaway. We spent just one night in the Stately home, Saturday (it snowed). The house is made up of 11 bedrooms, all uniquely designed to fit the taste of traditional Victorian elegance, each equally as impressive as the grounds it stands on.

As we arrived we were greeted by helpful, accommodating staff who were only too happy to attend to our every need. As we walked through the entrance doors our eyes fell upon the breathtakingly beautiful cream lobby. We checked in and were shown to our room, The Mandarin Room. Enormous, the King bed that sat across the centre of the room was fantastic, you could quite simply get lost in it! ..

We chose to go out for dinner, aware this was our only night we thought we’d make the most of our stay in Northumberland! So we found a nice pub in the centre of Morpeth. Upon our return to the hotel staff suggested we sat in one of either room for a quiet drink before bed. We did so, and drink prices were not at all that expensive (around £4 for a glass of white wine).

Sunday morning we descended for breakfast, being given the choice of rooms we opted for the brightest room situated to the left of the lobby. Waiter service allowed for them to supply us with tea and toast with a perfect choice of breakfasts. I opted for Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Egg presented on a bagel topped with chive cheese. It was heavenly. Sam, acting upon our waitress’s recommendation, opted for the Northumberland Full English which came complete with Sausage, Bacon, Scrambled Egg, Tomato and Black Pudding. It did look lovely!

Our stay was wonderful, sheer bliss for the couple that are looking for a quiet retreat away from the hustle of the busy inner city life. This hotel offers elegance and class and we would highly recommend this stay to any of our friends and family.

Personally I would like to thank my amazing boyfriend for the best weekend. Ily.
