Insurance, getting the right cover

Sounds pretty simple and boring, I mean how many times has your mum nagged you to be careful and remember your insurance? Well your mum’s right, when travelling it really is important that you are covered correctly, who wants to find out their not covered whilst laid up in a foreign hospital? Here’s my 5 essential’s when taking out travel insurance for your next trip.

1. Be covered for your destination – How daft does this one sounds! It’s true though, you might be venturing off to Europe for some inter-railing but are you covered for Turkey? Morocco? Places like these are often excluded from European travel insurance so check before you purchase.

Asia; Koh Phi Phi, the Travellers Island

From the moment you step onto Koh Phi Phi you are instantly surrounded by British & Australian travelers basking in the sun, sand and Chang that makes the very existence of this island.

Koh Phi Phi is one of the smaller islands in Thailand and is accessible via boat only from both Phuket and Krabi. The views of the island are no less than idyllic, picture perfect scenery is one of the many reasons travelers flock to this island, the other is without a doubt, the alcohol.

Being such a small island makes getting around quite easy, handy when it’s 5am and you’re trying to navigate your way back to your hotel after a heavy night out. But it’s not all that the island has to offer. He’s my list of favorite things to do whilst staying on Phi Phi.

1. Without a doubt, number one has to be Maya Beach. Take a boat trip out to the island where The Beach was filmed and sunbath on the white sands of Phi Phi Ley.

Asia; Flying with Bangkok Airways.

Bangkok Airways, the cheap, easy way to fly around Asia. As always with these budget airlines, I’m sceptical when it comes to the facilities, and service they provide. For only £29 for a flight how can they possibly provide good service when compared to the western companies who, let’s be honest, fail in this department.

To my great surprise, and I do really mean great, Bangkok Airways provide one of the highest, if not these highest, ranking short hall services in the world. Continue reading
